About Us
The Central Library of Udalguri College was established in the year 1979 as a Knowledge Centre to support the educational programmes of the College by providing physical and intellectual access to information. The Library has an Assam Type Structure. It is situated in the midst of the academic complex of the College and is the hub of all the academic activities of the College. It provides comprehensive access to books, journals, reports, e-journals, and many other resources covering diverse disciplines there by facilitating research and study.
The Library is committed to preserve and house the collection for posterity and further enhance and support the academic environment by providing seamless access to information resources. The Library uses Koha as Library Management & Automation Software.
The Library circulation services remains open from 10.00AM to 4.00PM from Monday to Saturday except on holidays, throughout the year. The Library houses 18420 Textbooks and Reference Books, 6 Journals, 146500 e-books and 10000 e-journals through N-LIST programme. There are 910 books in the book bank and 72 bound volumes as well. The students can also access regional as well as national newspapers in the library. There are separate reading rooms both for teachers as well as students. Students can apply for Library Cards after the completion of the admission process.
The Library also facilitates BookFairs as according to the convenience of the College, so that the students of the institution get to access and purchase the necessary books.
The Central Library follows Open Access System reducing the barriers between the books and readers. The Central Library is automated using Koha ILMS (Integrated Library Management Software). The users can search the Library Catalogue through WebOPAC and digital library during library hours and beyond.
